Winter is coming, and in West Michigan we’re always ready for the snow! From ice skating and snowmobiling to sledding and sleigh rides, West Michigan offers tons of fun winter activities.
Winter Sports at the Muskegon Winter Complex
The Muskegon Winter Complex welcomes families, groups and individuals to enjoy a variety of outdoor sports at their state-of-the-art facilities.
Experience nature on cross country skis or snowshoes, skate the scenic quarter mile ice skating trail, or have fun skating on one of the hockey rinks. If you’re up for a true Olympic challenge, you can even go for a ride on the Muskegon Luge Track. It was designed by a real Olympian! Whatever winter sport you love, the Muskegon Winter Complex has it.
Before heading back to your cozy room at the Weathervane Inn, you might also want to check out the holiday shopping centers in and around Muskegon. It’s all just a 20 minute drive from our lakeside hotel.
Snowmobiling and More Family Fun
The winter climate and rolling hills of West Michigan make it perfect for some of the best snowmobiling in the state.
Each of the 175 miles of snowmobiling trails near White Lake is well-maintained and interconnected, and there’s plenty to see and do along the way. Check out this West Michigan snowmobile map, which includes our own water-front hotel and also shows trail heads, gas stops and parking areas.
For those members of your party who choose to stay back from snowmobiling, remember that there are tons of other exciting things to do in the area. Sleigh rides, snow tubing, sledding and indoor water parks are just a short jaunt away from our lakeside inn.
Unwinding From the Cold
The best temperatures for a lot of these winter activities are below freezing, so it will feel good to cuddle up indoors too!
After enjoying all that snow, it’s easy to get pretty chilled to the bone. That’s why it’s important to find the perfect lakeside inn that offers comfort and relaxation at the end of each fun-filled day. With a fireplace and jacuzzi in each room, the Weathervane Inn has just what you’ll need. While the snow flies outside, you can get cozy and warm in one of our luxurious guest rooms.
