During these hot-days-of-summer, everyone’s hitting the beaches in the White Lake area! Each year, guests come from all over the country to enjoy our more than 26 miles of gorgeous Lake Michigan coastline, and we’d love to see you here too! At the Weathervane Inn, we’ve got several beautiful beaches nearby.
Medbery Park
Just follow the White Lake Channel to the west, and you’ll run right into Medbery Park on Lake Michigan. It’s great for picnicking, swimming, or beach volleyball (just bring your own net).
Park hours: 6am – 11pm. 15 minutes by car from The Weathervane Inn.
Meinert County Park
Shh! Meinert Park is a secret gem on the lakeshore that not many people know about. Outdoor enthusiasts especially love visiting this area of the shoreline because of the huge rolling dunes and abundant trails. Great for a quiet walk along the sand or catching awesome panoramic views on one of the overlook decks.
Park hours: 8am – 10pm. 15 minute drive from our lakeside inn.
Pioneer County Park
Pioneer Park boasts a beautiful swimming beach on Lake Michigan. There’s a play area for kids with facilities for tennis, basketball, baseball, and horseshoes. This beach is also very close to Michigan’s Adventure and the famous Silversides WWII submarine.
Park hours: 8am – 10pm. About 20 minutes south of our lake front hotel.
More Area Beaches
Other beaches include Duck Lake State Park, which extends from the northern shores of inland Duck Lake to Lake Michigan and the White River Light Station Beach, which features an 1875 Lake Michigan lighthouse that has been converted into a public museum
