What’s happening in the White Lake area this December? Get ready for parades, concerts, holiday-inspired murder mystery dinner parties and much more. Plus, Santa Claus is comin’ to town!
Here are the events to look forward to as you plan your visit to our area:
64th Annual White Lake Area Christmas Parade
Each year, the American Legion and the VFW team up to give the White Lake area a spectacular Christmas Parade.
This year, with the help of proud Christmas Parade Title Sponsor, Miller & Shepherd Law, more than 80 participants, including area businesses, schools, churches and civic organizations will be traveling from Whitehall City Hall to Montague City Hall for the procession. Pick a spot anywhere on Colby Street or right outside our lakeside inn to enjoy the action.
This Christmas parade will feature floats of all kinds, clowns and cartoon characters, fire trucks and animals. Marching bands from both Whitehall and Montague high schools will be participating too, as will troops from the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and Brownies.
Even St. Nick himself will be there! Santa Claus will be making a grand finale appearance at the end of the parade as he makes his way back to his house in front of Montague City Hall. There, he will be eager to greet children of all ages and hear their Christmas wishes!
Here are the parade details:
- When: December 3rd, 2016, 2pm – 3pm
- Where:
- START: Whitehall City Hall, 405 E Colby Street, Whitehall, MI 49461
- END: Montague City Hall, 8778 Ferry Street, Montague, MI 49437
- Best way to watch: The parade travels west on Colby Street and across the bridge from Whitehall to Montague. Feel free to bring folding lawn chairs (and blankets, hats and mittens!) and set up anywhere along the route to enjoy the procession.
Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town!
If you can’t make the December 3rd parade to visit Santa Claus, don’t worry. Kids will still have plenty of chances to see Santa and take pictures with him at his house outside of Montague City Hall during regular hours on Fridays and Saturdays in December.
Since the 1960s, the “Santa House” has been a popular attraction during the holiday season and is organized and run by the Montague Police Department. For more information on Santa’s hours, contact the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce at (231) 893-4585.
