The last Friday in July is always a special evening for vintage car lovers in West Michigan. Each year, the CRUZ’IN Classic Car Show Parade rolls through Whitehall and Montague to the spectacle of folks from all over the state. Come and be a part of this fun family event on Friday, July 31st at 7pm!
An Annual West Michigan Tradition
The CRUZ’IN Parade is in its 22nd year this summer, and event coordinators anticipate more than 400 beautiful classic cars to be involved. In addition to the car owners themselves, hundreds of people come out for this annual event. As one of the biggest and best car parades in lower Michigan, it never fails to attract people from Muskegon, Grand Rapids and Holland, and others come from Chicago, Detroit and beyond as well.
Getting to the Event
Likely one of the best things about this car show is that it’s completely free for everyone and always family friendly. There will be a DJ playing music, food vendors at the ready, and plenty of space to plop down some lawn chairs and enjoy the show.
Before the parade, all are welcome to peruse the parked vehicles at their starting point on Funnel Field. This is a great time to get a view under the hoods of your favorite classic cars and to talk to the owners directly. All cars in the show are required to be from 1975 or earlier.
At 7pm, engines will start, and a long line of tail fins and chrome will begin to journey from downtown Whitehall to Montague. Spectators are welcome to set up camp anywhere along the route, and kids are encouraged to bring a sack for all the candy they’ll collect!
